Simi was born Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye on the 19th of April, 1988. She was born in Ojuelegba, Surulere, in Lagos state, Nigeria. As a growing child back in the days, she behaved more like a tomboy, and was the last child of four children. In 2017, she released Joromi, and Smile for Me in anticipation of her second music album, Simisola. Joromi was massively acclaimed and the music video for the song was directed by Aje Films. Smile for Me was one of the most loved singles that year, and its music video was directed by Clarence Peters.
Finally, her second album was released on the 8th of September, 2017 to positive acclaims, debuting #5 on the Billboard World Albums chart. On the 8th of August, 2018, she released a single titled I Dun Care, alongside a music video for the song.
