Flavour N’abania was born Chinedu Okoli on the 23rd of November, 1983 in Enugu State, Nigeria. He’s a native of Umunze in Orumba South LGA, Anambra State, Nigeria. At the age of 13, he started doing music as he began playing drums at his local church, and for the Church choir in Enugu State.

Eventually, the pastor at the local Church developed interest in his musical skills and introduced him to Chris I. Ordor, the chief executive officer of a new music company, SoundCity Communications.

In 1996, Flavour N’abania was awarded a scholarship by the music company to study music. Three years later, he became a professional drummer and began playing the piano in same year, 1999.

Aside being a drummer and pianist, he was a backup vocalist for artistes at the SoundCity Communications music company. He ventured into the music industry at the age of 19 playing drums and piano for a local music band located in Enugu.

He would later play at the City Centre in Enugu State as a professional drummer offered an opportunity to showcase his talent at the popular Square. Later on, he started learning to produce music from producers including Isi Charles, Dekumzy, and Nnachie.

Debut Album: N’abania (2005)

The modern highlife singer released his debut album in 2005, and it was titled by his name, N’abania. The album was released under the Obaino Music record, and it was successful essentially in the eastern parts of Nigeria.

The hit and lead single titled N’abania featured Igbo rapper Mr Raw, and it was recorded in Lagos State at a music studio owned by Kingsley Ogoro.

Second Album: Uplifted (2010)

In 2010, Flavour N’abania released his second album titled Uplifted. He actually believed that the album would be more successful than the debut album as he worked on it.

To his surprise, the album broke into international market, and was a bigger success than the debut album, just as he hoped.

It was released by Lolhiphop Records in South Africa after much demand. Some of the hit tracks in the album include Nwa Baby, Oyi Remix (featuring Tiwa Savage), and Adamma.

Third Album: Blessed (2012)

On the 18th of October 2012, through 2Nite Entertainment and iROCKING LTD, an album titled Blessed was successfully released.

Due to the amount of work that was put into it by different producers, this album can he said to be the biggest album ever by Flavour N’abania. Interestingly, the album was released on same day Flavour did his Nightclub, 2Nite Club’s grand opening.

Fourth Album: Thankful (2014)

In December 2014, Flavour N’abania released a 22-track album titled Thankful. The album sold thousands of copies and received positive reviews. It had lots of hit tracks including Wake Up (featuring Wande Coal), and Ololufe (featuring Chidinma).

Fifth Album: Ijele the Traveller (2017)

In 2017, Flavour N’abania released a 17-track album titled Ijele the Traveller. The album included a track with featured vocals from a blind Sierra Leonean fan.

Crazy Love (2018)

In 2018, Flavour N’abania released a song titled Crazy Love, which gained conventional success. Into the year, he released another song that would be more traditional. It was titled Awele, featuring Igbo duo Umu Obiligbo.

Music Theft Accusation

On the 29th of August, 2012, it was reported by Nigerian Entertainment Today that Flavour N’abania was accused by Wutah (Ghanaian duo) of stealing the tempo, rhythm, and chorus in a song titled Kwarikwa.

The song, according to the report, is a replica of Kotosa (a song by Wutah). The song had same chorus, tempo, and rhythm as Kwarikwa, but was first sung by the Ghanaian duo.
