Clarence Thomas was born on the 23rd of June, 1948. After birth, Clarence was raised alongside his sister Emma Mae and brother Myers Lee in Pin Point, Georgia. At the age of nine, his family was totally segmented as his Dad left earlier before he turned 9.

His mother, younger brother Myers Lee, and older sister Emma Mae were all he had growing up. Without very many notions, his mother sent he and his younger brother (Myers Lee) to live with their grandfather and grand stepmother in Savannah.

Living with his grandfather, he was convinced to take on a religious path, to become a religious figure. He had it in mind to become what his grandfather suggested, and when he was in highschool, he took his first step and moved to St. John Vianney Minor Seminary. He graduated in 1967, and continued schooling at the Immaculate Conception Seminary in Missouri.

In 1968, Martin Luther King was assassinated, and this played a role in Clarence Thomas’ life as he left the seminary after hearing a student laughing off on the assassination of Martin Luther King. He continued at Holy Cross College, studying English.

At the college, he was involved in civil rights campaign, the Vietnam war protest, and was materialistic in founding a union for black students. After graduating from the college, he moved to the Yale Law School and started making name for himself through the projection of his conservative views.

After earning his degree in Law, he worked for Missouri Attorney General John Danforth as an assistant. He also worked for Monsanto (agricultural company) as a Lawyer, and eventually moved to Washington D.C. Perhaps, his move to Washington D.C. was most favourable as he earned appointments from the then president Ronald Reagan.

In 1982, he was appointed the chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and was given his maiden judgeship by the former president of the United States of America, George H.W. Bush. He was nominated to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Aside from being one heck of a lawyer, he’s a sportsperson who loves sports. If he’s not in the court, he’s probably having a little (or much fun). He’s a fan of Dallas Cowboys, and an enthusiast of NASCAR. He is married to Virginia Lamp.
