About Iyanya

Iyanya is a Nigerian musician birthed in Palm Street, Cross River State, Nigeria as Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk on the 31st of October, 1986. Iyanya wasn't born into a wealthy family, but he's gone a long way to ensure his kids are born with golden spoons.

His father lived and worked in the forest as a Forester, and his mother was a teacher and headmistress. According to himself, his mother was the disciplinarian in the house, and his dad was the subtle one.

This means his mom was hard and dad wasn't. Unfortunately, he lost his parents and his elder brother at about the same period of the year. They didn't die in old age and they were both below 55 years of age as his dad was 50 and his mom, 42 years of age.

How his parents and elder brother died is what Iyanya hasn't yet revealed, but it can be inferred that they were spiritually attacked. At age 5, Iyanya coordinated the Children's Choir at his Church and sang pretty well also at that age.

He studied both at primary and secondary level in calabar and bagged a degree in Business Management from the University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. After emerging the winner of the Project Fame West Africa show, Iyanya gained a ton followers and became famous to an extent.

He's the cofounder of Triple M G, a music label founded in 2011 and now solely operated by Ubi Franklin. The stage performer and singer Iyanya is famed for his single titled "Kukere" which he dropped in 2013. In same year Made Men Music Group was founded by the duo, Ubi Franklin and Iyanya, Iyanya released his debut album titled "My Story".

However, his second album titled "Desire" was the mega drop! The album was aided with his onetime super hit song titled "Kukere" and other singles like "Ur Waist", "Sexy Mama" and "Flavour". More fascinatingly, Iyanya bagged the "Best Artiste of the Year" at the The Headies Awards, 2013 edition as he was super active and one of the most followed and mentioned artistes in 2013.

In 2016, Iyanya signed a management deal with Temple Management Company and months later in October, he penned a music deal with a topnotch and leading music imprint in Nigeria, Mavin Records.

Prior to making this move, he revealed his plans to break out of the Triple M G music imprint in July; two months before the month he signed the Mavin Records music deal.
